Our Land

The farm Tenute Mantegna extends over the tops of an ancient hill, about 550 meters above sea level, an area of 27,000 hectares. Called Montepeloso (from the greek "Monte Plusos" = fertile and rich land) until 1895, when a royal decree signed by King Umberto, the name was replaced with the current one: Irsina. Irsina is the 59th largest town in Italy for extension, second only to Matera in Basilicata.

In the area of Irsina and Tricarico there is the forest Verrutoli, about 650 hectares of wooded area, with picnic area and nature reserve of deer that live freely in the wood. The peculiarity of the climate of the lands of Irsina and Tricarico favors vines.
